This is possibly some of the oddest but coolest wrapping paper I've seen in a long time.

I can't be the only person who has always wanted to put a camera on my pets so I can see what they get up to when I'm not around, right? I want a cat one too, with night vision, because I image a cat to be more interesting than a dog.

Speaking of cats, when we finally get cats of our own I think we'll have to get them this.

Who Needs Feminism?
Source
This is a really interesting blog that shows why Feminism is still important, it's made up of photos of people contributing their own reasons for my they need Feminism, such as:

“I need feminism because I have the right to live my life the way I choose to!”

and

I need feminism because we live in a society where feminism is still a dirty word.

and

I need Feminism because I’m tired of being patronized and called selfish for choosing not to have children.

American flag inspired shorts have been about for a while, and I can't be the only person who seems jean shorts and thinks "why should I pay £40 for something I can make myself with a pair of scissors?", well here's an easy guide to customize some old jean shorts to look even cooler without having to splash the cash at Topshop or H&M.

Quick and healthy Easter lunch from Super Healthy Kids : Granola with a sesame seed candy in the lower left compartment. Hard boiled egg chick in the upper left. Main compartment contains sandwich (cut into a lamb) Carrots, lettuce, red peppers, and red onions (all finger veggies, no fork needed). And a cup of cuties.

I have a thing for adorable lunch boxes. Look at it! I don't know if I could bring myself to eat it.

Something To Read
I'm a clever person and guess what? So is everyone else. You're smart. So what?
"There are so many more important things than being intelligent, and being intelligent does not make you better than anyone else!"

Something To Make
I love dreamcatchers, we have a little one above our bed, and these doily dreamcatchers are amazingly pretty and look super easy to make too!

I feel that I need a sand art terrarium in my house, just because it would be fun to put our Mario and Sonic figures in it and take photos.

Something To Eat
Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries with Sea Salt and Rosemary
We had sweet potato chips at a restaurant a few months ago and they were delicious, so I really want to try and make my own at home.

If you fancy yourself as a photographer then here's some tips on food photography or 'how to make anything look delicious'.

Something For The Weekend

Something to eat:

Cream teas
Have cream teas for breakfast! My boyfriend and I have done this twice this week because we are greedy piggies. It's been really grey and miserable here but cream teas are a sure fire way to brighten your morning! Plus they don't have to be as crazy fattening as you might think, or you can look at it the way my boyfriend does "you're supposed to have a big breakfast!", your choice. If you can't eat cream for one reason or another you can get dairy free options and there's a few recipes about online you can try out! My boyfriend took the photo by the way, and yes I do own an awesome cat teapot.

Mexican Lasagna
Okay so I sort of mixed together two recipes I found online and also altered them. The two recipes are from here and here.

But what I used in my version was: Tortillas, black beans, sweetcorn, chopped tomatoes, ketchup, Tabasco, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, grated cheddar cheese and chopped jalapeños. I did it all in the over too because I'm lazy and we don't have a cooker upstairs just a little counter top cooker and I didn't want to go downstairs to fry things.

I mixed together the chopped tomatoes, ketchup, Tabasco, and jalapeños. Then I mixed the black beans and sweetcorn together in a separate bowl. Cooked the onions and peppers in the oven until soft, then mixed them with the sauce together.

Covered the bottom of a cake tin with some salsa, layered some tortillas on top that I ripped into four pieces. Then a layer of sweetcorn and black beans, then the sauce, then cheese. Tortillas, sweetcorn and black beans, sauce, tortillas, cheese and finished.

I only cook for two people so feel free to keep layering as much as you like depending on how many people are eating it! My boyfriend was very impressed and requested that I make it again so that's always a good sign! Plus everything in it is pretty cheap to buy and you could easily swap the cheese for faux-cheese if you are vegan or allergic to dairy.

This is really easy to make. Get some strawberries, pop them into an ice tray, fill with melted chocolate, freeze and voila!

I don't know about you but I always seem to have tons of piles of paper around and I spend far too much time rummaging through them searching for that elusive piece that I need but can never find. I also tend to have lots of cereal boxes around because we recycle our cardboard and sometimes it piles up. So, why not put them to some use? You might want to reinforce the 'shelf' first but that's easily done and it save buying one of those racks that are so often plastic and ugly.

Something to style:

This ones more for the girls, or from some daring guys with amazing long hair.

Whether you are bored at home or going out here's some cute hairstyle that might be fun to try out.

That's all that I have to share with you today, let me know if you try out any of these and what you think! Especially if you're not a UK person as I know that cream teas are really hard to come by abroad.

Something For The Weekend

Image from Sew Indie
Well aside from checking out my newest review, of The Goddess Test, and browsing through the sparklingly new Writes of Passage anthology website I suppose you might need something else to entertain you. We are now one week into the new year and this is the very first Saturday of 2012! So, here are some great things to get your teeth sunk into.

Something to read:
Having trouble with your resolutions? Sounds like you need to read The Real Secret of Quitting Bad Habits by the lovely Megan over at Charade. Megan also studied English Literature and Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, so you know she's going to be great!

Do you share the same opinion as the amazing Isabel over at Hipster Musings, that fashion blogging has become somewhat stagnant of late? Whether you agree or not, definitely check out her article: "Hello, I Love You", or "Why Fashion Blogging Smells Like Raw Fish". Her article was even edited and reposted in the Toronto Standard!

Something to eat:
Treat yourself to a delicious and simple helping of peanut butter toast and a glass of grapefruit juice, or push the boat out a bit and make a yummy, low-carb all veggie brunch, or you could be even more adventurous and try your hand at making these delicious vegan apple and walnut pancakes! Personally I'm tempted by the pancakes, they look a little too good to be true so I may be giving them a whirl tomorrow.

Something to make:

If you're feeling crafty and a little bit nerdy then try your hand at making a DS Lite (or 3DS, or whichever you own) case shaped like a retro NES controller.

Something For The Weekend

It's New Years Eve today so I hope you're all planning to do something fun! I've never been one to go out for New Years, I went to a pub with my friends once in my first year of university and that was the only time. That pub was cool though because there was a dog! Anyway, I've pretty much always spent New Years either with my parents or with my friends at someone's house.

This year my fiancé's brother is staying with us and I think that they do fireworks on the beach opposite our house every year so we get a free show!

But before you run off to make the finishing touches to your party plans check out some of my suggestions to do today!

Something to eat:
Boozy Appetizers - Cucumber and rummy hummus
I love cucumber, I will eat it as if it's an apple and hummus is one of the tastiest things on the planet if it's done right so these look delicious to me. The added rum makes them a little bit different and grown up too. The recipe is from PETA and although I'm not a supporter, they do have some great veggie recipies.

Something to make:
DIY fabric bunting
Now this is actually an idea for a kids birthday party, but I think it would be fantastic for any occasion. At a New Years party you could clip on pictures of you, your family and your friends from earlier in the year to show everything you've done!

Cupcake toppers
I also love the idea of making little cake toppers like these, they add a touch of fun and silliness to a party. Just because you're a grown up doesn't mean you can't add a little childish fun into the mix! I always think that by doing fun little things like this it can help everyone relax.

Something to read:

For the animal product avoiding people out there, and all those who don't bother avoiding them at all, check out Like a Vegan for some very yummy, healthy recipes to start off your New Year!
